Jones County receives funds from the Federal Highway Administration

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County has received more than $500,000 from the Federal Highway Administration.

Jones County officials received $593,000 to make repairs to three of its major rural roads in the county.

Monroe Road, Luther Hill Road and Mill Creek Road were all covered under the high risk rural road grant.

The county engineer Ronnie Clark said the current roads were constructed with a liquid asphalt with a limestone surface which now holds water during a heavy rain.
