JCJC holds a College Information Fair for high school seniors

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Nearly 1,000 high school seniors from across the Pine Belt converged on the Jones County Junior College campus Tuesday morning to discover the many educational opportunities offered by the college.

Following a tour of campus, seniors headed to the Thoms P.E. building to begin the College Information Fair. Students and faculty were on hand to give seniors an overview of the academic programs and extracurricular activities offered by JCJC.

Dean of Student Affairs Samuel Jones, says one of the biggest benefits of the fair is to get high school seniors on campus and to provide an understanding of all the programs offered. He hopes that having the opportunity to experience life as a student on JCJC campus will alleviate any fears seniors may have about college.

The College Information Fair will continue Wednesday with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. All area high school seniors are welcomed, and class absence excuse slips will be provided.
