HPD adds 4 experienced officers to force

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg Police Department has just added several experienced officers to its force. Friday morning, Mayor Johnny Dupree administered the oath of office to 4 new officers.

All of them have several years of experience in law enforcement.  They are officers Narottam Holden, James Tedford, Rebekah Wells and Johnny Vaughn.

All 4 will now go through several weeks of orientation and will spend time riding along with other veteran officers before hitting the streets on their own. Friday's swearing-in brings the total number of officers at the Hattiesburg Police Department to 121.

The department is authorized to have 140.
