Single car accident kills one in south Jones County

JONES CO., MS (WDAM) - A SUV traveling eastbound in Jones County crossed the center line and struck a mailbox then went off the road and struck a tree.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on Highway 590 about three miles south of Ellisville.  The indentified 92 year old Jones County man was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Ellisville and South Jones Volunteer Fire Departments along with the Highway Patrol and the Jones County Sheriff's department responded.
