Jones County receives nearly 5 inches of rain from Tropical Storm Lee

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Tropical Storm Lee has left the area but roads in South Mississippi are still soaked with water.

Lee spared much of the Pine Belt from tornado activity but it brought heavy rain.

On Monday, several cars were stuck in the median of Interstate-59 in Jones County because of the rain.

Some motorists reported at times it was almost impossible to see on the roadway.

Emergency Management Director Don McKinnon said Jones County fared pretty well during this storm receiving only five inches of rain.
