Hattiesburg, MS (WDAM)- Lee will continue to impact the Pine Belt Sunday with thin but heavy rain bands, plus the continued threat of small and fast moving tornadoes.
The center of Lee is currently making landfall in S. Central Louisiana. As of the 7:00 AM NHC update the storm was classified as a Tropical storm with winds of 45 mph, minimum pressure of 986mb, and a northeast movement of just 3 mph.
The center of Lee should slowly drag over the Pine Belt on Monday, and a cold front should help Lee exit the Region on Tuesday.
So far rainfall estimates of 9.5 inches have been registered on the MS Gulf Coast. 7 inches have been recorded in S. Lamar County, 3+ inches in Hattiesburg, and 2+ inches in Jones County.
