JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A furry visitor wandered upon a Jackson County resident's corn field Wednesday morning.
The landowner discovered the intruder with an automatic wildlife camera and called authorities.
Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks authorities set up a non-lethal bear trap which did not injure the animal. After they captured it, the 239-pound endangered black bear was collared and tagged with a GPS tracking device.
The bear was then numbered and released back into the wild safe and sound.
