LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The Director of the Animal Rescue League in Laurel said the board is making some major cuts but will not be closing its doors.
Cynthia Parsley said the Animal Rescue League says a lack of donations is forcing the center to cut its spending and employees hours. She said the city will not be asked to take over the shelter. Parsley said the board is willing to sell items that have been donated to the center to help generate income.
Parsley said despite the financial hardship the animals will continue to be taken care of properly.
