PETAL, MS (WDAM) - A Petal school that is dedicated to helping students manage their dyslexia is trying to get a state wide specialty license plate produced to help families afford the school's tuition.
However, the school needs three hundred pre-ordered license plates before the state will begin producing them for commuters.
So far, supporters of the Dynamic Dyslexia Design School, or 3-D school for short, have secured one hundred license plate orders.
It costs thirty one dollars to purchase the specialty plate, and if they are put into production, twenty four dollars of that cost will be placed in a special fund.
That money will then help families in need afford the private schools tuition for their kids.
The 3-D school educates forty five students in grades second through the fourth with dyslexia.
