Southern Miss advises students to prevent staph infections

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - With the dorms full, and students back in school, hygiene shouldn't fall to the wayside.

Staph infection is one of the most common illness on college campuses. Community bathrooms tend to be a breeding ground for staph.

The University of Southern Mississippi Health Center recommends all students were flip flops when in the shower, and to always wash their hands after using the bathroom. A good tip to remember is to carry around a small bottle of disinfectant, said officials.
