HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Some Southern Miss upper classmen, accustomed to carrying heavy loads, helped some brand new Golden Eagles move into their residence halls for the fall semester Saturday morning.
Members of USM's football team pitched in, to carry dressers, TVs, shelves and other items to the various floors of the Freshmen Quad on the Hattiesburg campus.
It's a tradition for Golden Eagle players to help the new students get adjusted to life in college.
"It's like, somebody helped me, so why not help them when they're coming in," said senior linebacker Jeremy Snowden.
"We have so many of us and so many guys to help out," said senior quarterback Austin Davis.
Fall classes begin next Wednesday.
