NEW AUGUSTA, MS (WDAM) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation is helping Perry County keep the highways free of litter.

MDOT has donated a used Chevrolet Silverado truck to the Perry County Sheriff's Department, which will be used to transport county inmates to and from area highways on clean-up details.

The donation is part of MDOT's Mississippi Inmate Litter Removal Partnership Program.
That program includes 11 law enforcement agencies in MDOT's District Six.
