JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Several Jones County residents have been arrested by the Department of Homeland Security on charges of making false documents.
Agents from The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration, and Jones County Sheriff's Deputies served search warrants this morning on this trailer park on Highway 11 South in Laurel.
Officials said several individuals both men and women were arrested, but the numbers are not available. Sources close to the investigation said at least nine were picked up. Three children were also turned over to the Mississippi Department Of Human Services.
According to authorities, the suspects were involved in the production of counterfeit documents, including fake IDs and work permits. Software and lamination equipment was also seized.
The nine suspects are currently being housed in the Forrest County Jail.
