The Postal Service struggles continue

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The U.S. Postal Service continues to struggle with significant losses over the last three months.

Postal Officials report a loss of $5.7 billion so far this year. That could force the agency to default on payments that are due in September, which is the end of the budget year.

Between April and June, the Post Office handled nearly 40 billion pieces of mail, that's down about one billion than during the same period last year.
