Appeals hearings continued for two fired HPD officers

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg Civil Service Commission has continued the case of two Hattiesburg Police officers challenging their terminations.

Lieutenant Ken Ross and Officer Timothy Slade are appealing their dismissal, over what Chief Frazier Bolton called "the use of excessive force while trying to subdue a suspect at a traffic stop."

The hearings were originally scheduled for 2:00pm Monday.

Back in June, Ken Ross' attorney, Tim Farris asked the commission for a continuance because the department couldn't provide him with vital documents in the case.
