JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM)- A man accused of sexually assaulting seven women was extradited to Jones County Wednesday.
According to authorities, United States Marshals extradited Miguel Oros from Mexico to the U.S. on August 3rd. Oros was then taken into custody late Wednesday evening by the Jones County Sheriff's Department in Gulfport.
Oros had been in the custody of the Mexican Government since May of 2010. He was indicted in October of 2009 for the sexual assaults of five Jones County women dating back to 2005. Those assaults were linked to assaults in Meridian and New Iberia, Louisiana.
Oros went before Judge Billy Joe Landrum on Thursday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of rape, burglary of dwellings, and sexual battery.
Seven On Your Side has learned that Oros was in the United States on a work visa, which expired in 2004. No one would say where Oros was employed, but did say he did odd jobs in the after his visa expired.
