Tom King campaigns for Transportation Commissioner

PETAL, MS. (WDAM) - This Primary election day is an important one for Mississippi State Senator Tom King. He is running for Southern District Transportation Commissioner.

King explained that for the last several months he has been busy spreading the message about his candidacy to the district's 27 counties.

Tom King is a Republican from Petal, who has been a member of the State Senate for the last decade. King also chairs the Senate's Highways and Transportation Committee. Prior to his Senate experience, King served in the State House of Representatives.

According to Tom King, "We've all worked very hard, our team has worked very hard. My wife has been driving the truck with our signs and all of our campaign paraphernalia. It's been great, it's been very positive. We've had a lot of folks come on board. It works well with teamwork and we appreciate all the help we have received."

King is facing one other Republican challenger in this race, Scottie Cuevas. He is a former State Senator from Harrison County.
