New Miss Hospitality crowned in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A 20-year-old Petal native is Mississippi's new Miss Hospitality. Ann Claire Reynolds was crowned Miss Hospitality 2011 at a pageant in Hattiesburg Saturday night.

Reynolds is a double-major in special and elementary education at Southern Miss.

She says she's ready to represent her state as a new goodwill ambassador.

"I want to meet as many people as I can," Reynolds said. "I think that's what's going to be so exciting about this year is just meeting the people from across my state. I think so many times that the people outside of Mississippi don't realize what a warm and welcoming and hospitable state that we are and I want to share that with the country," Reynolds said.

Reynolds grew up in Petal, but also lived a couple of years in Tylertown.
