JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM)- A mobile home in the Powers community was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say around 2:30 p.m., a neighbor heard what sounded like an explosion coming from direction of the home. He then called 911.
Homeowners Douglas and Kimberly Chandler were able to salvage most of their belongings.
Fire units from Powers, M&M, and Glade responded to the scene.
Authorities say the cause of the fire was a short in the electrical outlet connecting the stove.
