HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - It is a summer filled with fun at the Police Athletics League summer camp in Hattiesburg.
P.A.L. is a crime prevention program that the Hattiesburg Police Departments Community Relations Division puts on for kids ages 8 to 17.
For seven weeks, campers play a variety of sports, they learn different dance techniques, play games and swim. Captain Ricky Myers said this camp isn't just about playing games, they also teach life skills, they hope the kids will use as they get older.
Myers said, "I see the joy that we put in their lives and I see that we are making a difference. That is what it's all about, giving back to our kids because they are our future."
150 kids attended the 2nd annual P.A.L. summer camp.
