Public Service Commissioner holds "Ratepayers' Forum" in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- Southern District Public Service Commissioner, Leonard Bentz and his staff held a public forum Wednesday at Hattiesburg's tax collector building.

The public had an opportunity to speak to Bentz's staff about their utility rates. Mississippi public service commission water and sewer specialist, Doug Lawler, was glad to know the commission is there to help with any questions the public might have concerning their rates.

"There's an agency out there that can help them with utilities whether it be getting more information or more details on whether they're being billed correctly, more energy efficient stuff going on in their house," said Lawler.

Commissioner Bentz and his staff will hold another forum Thursday at the Petal Civic Center Library from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
