Foreclosures down in Mississippi

UNDATED (WDAM) - The number of Mississippi residents threatened by the loss of their homes dropped during the second quarter of 2011.

RealtyTrac officials say for April, May and June, 840 properties were targeted by some foreclosure-related action.  For most of those it was largely the end of the line.

RealtyTrac notes 514 of the 840 properties were repossessed by lenders.  The remaining 326 were scheduled for a foreclosure sale.

The total number of actions fell 22.4% from the first quarter of 2011 and 17.8% from the second quarter of 2010.
