"Symba" Pet of the Week for 7-8-11

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A three month old medium haired Tabby Kitten named Symba is the Southern Pines Animal Shelter Pet of the Week.

Symba is very friendly, curious, and playful. She was found abandoned outside the shelter's gate. She will make one family a very good pet.

Adoption rates at the Shelter have changed. Kittens are still $75, cats over a year old have been reduced to $50, dogs up to the age of 4 are $100 and it's $75 for dogs over 4.

The shelter is open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. They are located on North 31st Avenue in Hattiesburg.

    Construction is underway in Waynesboro on a new Sportsplex. It is located on Highway 184 near Wayne County High School. Phase One will include two fields for soccer and pee wee football.
