Hattiesburg, Waynesboro drowning incidents leave two dead

PINE BELT, MS (WDAM)- A 32-year-old Hattiesburg man drowned in a swimming incident at a Hattiesburg apartment complex Wednesday.

Authorities say Loney Ezell and a group of friends were swimming in a pool at Windsor Apartments on Highway 49 at North 31st Ave. 

Witnesses said they saw Ezell go under, but according to authorities, none of the friends could swim. Ezell was finally pulled from the pool but was pronounced dead at Forrest General Hospital.

A 52-year0old Waynesboro man drowned Wednesday while swimming in the Chickasawhay river. Witnesses say Adam Lacy appeared to have difficulty swimming and was on his way back to shore when he went under. It happened on the river at the Highway 184 boat ramp.
