HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM)- There is a new face working with the Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association.
Her name is Jackie Lee and she comes to the Hub City after working with the Laurel Main Street organization.
Lee will be helping the Executive Director of the Hattiesburg Association, Betsy Rowell, with the group's many promotional projects.
"Well as the Program Manager I'm really focused on promotions, the fun stuff. We are going to be helping out with a lot of events that take place in the downtown, we are going to be hosting several events ourselves that are coming up this fall. And of course, I'm going to be working with the merchants trying to help them promote their businesses and any events that they have going on," explained Lee.
While Lee is joining the organization on a part time basis, she will busy publicizing downtown attractions this summer.
They include the area's upcoming fourth of July celebration called Stars and Stripes and the Midsummer Daydream Concert Series. That event places a string quartet in downtown restaurants during the lunch hour, so diners can enjoy quality music.
Downtown's Stars and Stripes event is happening this fourth of July in Hattiesburg's Town Square Park. It will kick off at 4PM on Monday and last until 8 PM that evening. The celebration will include many activities for families.
