JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Elections officials have formally approved the listing of Republican Thad Cochran, Democrat Travis Childers and the Reform Party's Shawn O'Hara on the November ballot as U.S. Senate candidates. The decsion came Tuesday even though Cochran's GOP primary challenger, Chris McDaniel, is still contesting his loss in the courts.

WEST POINT, Miss. (AP) - West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley says he's reached out to the FBI to help investigate a weekend fight outside a restaurant that hospitalized a 32-year-old man. Brinkley says 22-year-old Courtez McMillian of Okolona has been arraigned on aggravated assault, with bond of $250,000.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Prosecutors in Jackson have presented a timeline for what they say is Tracey Lynn Garner's guilt on depraved heart murder charges, following unlicensed buttocks injections that left a woman dead. Defense lawyers, meanwhile, are raising doubts about events surrounding the 2012 death of Karima Gordon.

GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Casino operator Tropicana Entertainment expects to open its expanded gambling operation and resort in October, adding new table games and 300 more slot machines. Roscoe Greene, general manager of Trop Greenville, says in a news release the public is invited to join in the celebration of the event on Oct. 10.
