JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 7-month-old Mississippi infant is dead and authorities continue to search for her sibling. Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley says 2-year-old Maliah Harris disappeared with her parents after her 7-month-old sister, Alyssa, was found dead.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi's governor has signed a bill to ban abortion at the midpoint of a full-term pregnancy. Supporters say the bill will protect women's health, but abortion-rights advocates say it's unconstitutional. The bill becomes law on July 1.

Yarber is poised to take office at midweek after winning a runoff to an April 8 special election over the late mayor's son.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A Kemper County drugmaker has laid off most of its remaining employees, making it likely that it will shut down while owing the state economic development money. A notice filed with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security reports Pharma Pac laid off 84 employees from its DeKalb facility on March 7.
