Ga. Tech eliminates Southern Miss 6-2.

ATLANTA,GA (WDAM)-Georgia Tech's Jed Bradley through seven innings of shutout baseball against Southern Miss, helping the Yellowjackets eliminate the Golden Eagles 6-2.

The win allows the ACC school to live another day at the NCAA regional in Atlanta.  Ga. Tech scored five of their six runs in the 2nd inning. Brandon Thomas hit a three run homer off Dillon Day to put his team up for good. It was Thomas' third homerun of his career.

USM went 32 innings without scoring a run and didn't have a hit with anyone in scoring position the entire tournament. B.A. Vollmuth's fielder's choice in the 8th finally broke the streak of scoreless innings. Former Hattiesburg High star Colin Cargill pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief in his last game as a Golden Eagle.

Eagles end the season losing 8 of their last 10 games. USM finishes at  39-19 and co-champion of Conference USA.
