Laurel Police investigating convenience store shooting

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Three people are behind bars after a shooting at a Laurel convenience store.

Laurel police are still investigating an armed robbery that happened around 8:45 Wednesday morning at Cecil's Curb Store on 5th Avenue and Hoy Road. Police arrested Javis Warren, 23, of Pachuta and Brandon Alexander, 21, of Bay Springs.

Police said the two entered the store, approached the clerk, demanded the cash, and shot the clerk one time in the face with a handgun. The suspects then left the scene in a car allegedly driven by Alexander Curry. Investigators said the suspects were spotted by Sanderville Police Department on the interstate headed north when the 911 call came in.
