MS Supreme Court justice writes first novel

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Mississippi Supreme Court justice and Greene County native is writing more than legal opinons these days. He's just finished his 1st novel.

Justice Randy Pierce has authored, Pain Unforgiven. it's a fiction work about a successful Atlanta attorney who finds redemption by returning to his Greene County roots.

Thursday afternoon, Pierce signed copies at Hattiesburg's Main Street Books.

"It does have some conflict in it that he has to resolve," said Pierce. "He also faces the question that we often have to answer...why is it so hard, when people close to us disappoint us, to forgive them? And so, he has to deal with a father/son relationship that had turned turbulent in his early years," said Pierce.

He's working on his 2nd novel, which will involve fictional characters from Perry County.
