HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg City Council held a special meeting Wednesday afternoon, and went into executive session.
Kim Bradley, President of the Hattiesburg City Council said the purpose of the executive session was for the council to go to Mccomb to learn about its wastewater treatment facility.
Bradley says the council needs to gather information that will enable them to deal with potential litigation, and problems the council may face.
"It has to do with future load limits, our waste water that we release into the Leaf river. We are going to be more scrutinized about what we put in the Leaf river, and the limits that they are going to impose. We are not real sure that the current system that we have will meet that. We are looking at potential litigation, and so we want to take the initiative to go on the offensive and find a solution before we get to that point." said Bradley.
