Two Pine Belt business parks certified Project Ready

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Two Pine Belt area business parks have earned certifications as Project Ready sites.

The South Lamar Industrial Park in Lumberton and The Garden Innovation Commercialization park located off Classic Drive in Hattiesburg received their certifications Monday.

One of the fastest growing trends in the site location business is the demand for Project Ready industrial and technology park sites. The certification process was performed by McCallum Sweeney Consulting at the request of Mississippi Power.

"They want to unsure they have sites in their service area that are ready to develop," said Chad Newell, President Area Development Partnership. "In essence this is a big step having sites that are certified. Having the stamp of approval from McCallum Sweeney provides companies with a comfort level that they can develop here in a timely manner."

The 500 acre Garden is the property of USM and currently contains the scientific based incubator, The Accelerator.
