HPD hosts Police Ball

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Some Hattiesburg police officers traded their normal uniforms for coats and ties Saturday night to celebrate a new family tradition at the Hattiesburg Police Department.

An annual police ball was held for officers and their families at the Lake Terrace Convention Center. Current officers, retirees and other guests were invited.

They enjoyed dinner and music.

"This night is pretty much for everyone and everyone in the past who's ever worked for the Hattiesburg Police Department, just for us to all come together and just have a great time," said Sgt. Allen Murray with the Hattiesburg Police Department.

This was the 3rd year for the police ball.
