The class of 2011 graduates from the Children's Center

HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - The class of 2011 graduated from the Children's Center for Communication and Development Friday morning at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Over twenty students received their diplomas. Many of young graduates, who are five years old, are planning to attend kindergarten this fall.

The school educates students ages birth through five years old,  that are dealing with communication and developmental challenges. They have hosted a formal graduation ceremony at the school for several years now. Margaret Brinegar is the Center's Director.

According to Brinegar, "Many of these children started with us in infancy and that is what is such an inspiration to all us. To see how they and their families have journeyed with us for five years, six years. And now we are sending them off to their local school districts or wherever they might be for kindergarten."

Southern Miss's Associate Provost, Brett Kemker, presented each of the students with their diplomas.
