Columbia baseball team prepares for championship

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - The Columbia High School baseball team practiced for an hour-and-a-half Tuesday morning on the Oak Grove football field, preparing for the artificial turf surface at Smith-Wills Stadium.

The Wildcats are playing in their first state championship since 1997 and have never won a title.

First pitch between the Class 4A South State champions and North Pontotoc is Wednesday at 4 p.m.
