ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College will hold several sports camps this summer.

JCJC will be offering a four-day, stroke instruction swim camp for students in grades 4-12 in the Laurel/Jones County area.
The camp will be held May 23-26 from 5-6:30 p.m. each evening at the Laurel Natatorium on Highway 84 West.
The camp will be conducted by JCJC math instructor and former LSU swimmer Margaret Anne James. All swimmers attending the camp must be able to swim one lap of the pool without aid.
The JCJC Swim Camp will strive to familiarize young people with the four basic swimming strokes and provide a positive exercise experience in the form of swimming. Swimmers with little knowledge of the four competitive strokes as well as those wanting to improve their stroke technique are encouraged to attend.
Continued competitive swimming opportunities will be available through the Laurel Swim Association. This camp will also provide students with the necessary skills for competing on local high school swim teams.
JCJC's annual Summer Baseball Camp will be June 6-9 at Community Bank Park.
The camp is for youngsters ages 5-12 and will be held from 9 a.m.-noon each day.
The camp will feature baseball instruction from Bobcat head coach Christian Ostrander, his staff and players. There will be drills, games and plenty of fun for the campers.
Cost for the camp is $100, which includes a T-shirt, and pre-registration by May 20 is encouraged. Registration forms and waivers can be found at a link located on the baseball page at www.jcjc.edu.

The annual JCJC Cheerleading Camp will be held June 13-15 in the D.O. Thoms Physical Education Building.
The camp is for youngsters in the Pee Wee division (grades 3-5); Youth (grades 6-8); and Junior High (grades 8-9). Camp fee is $65 per cheerleader. Campers will receive instruction from the JCJC cheerleaders.
Check-in will be on June 13 from 9-9:30 a.m.

The annual JCJC Football Camp will take place June 20-22 from 8 a.m.-noon at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field.
The camp is for youngsters in grades 6-8 with a cost of $40 per camper. Campers are asked to bring shorts, tennis shoes and cleats.

GIRLS BASKETBALL CAMPS
There will be three JCJC Basketball Camps for girls and all will take place in the A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
The Girls Individual Skills Team Camp will be held June 24 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
This camp is for youngsters in grades 6-9 and camp registration fee is $60. Camp cost includes lunch, a T-shirt and insurance.
The annual JCJC High School Girls' Team Shootout will be held on June 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Teams are guaranteed at least three games. All games will be two 20-minute halves with a running clock. Cost is $245 per team.
The annual JCJC Junior High Girls' Team Camp will be held on June 21, beginning at 8:30 a.m. This camp is for teams in grades 6-9. Cost is $150 per team.

BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP
The annual JCJC Boys Summer Team Camp will be held June 22-23 in the A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
One day guarantees a team three games, while attending two days guarantees a team six games. One-day registration fee is $245, while two-day registration fee is $440. Make checks payable to "Bobcat Basketball Club."

JCJC will hold two camps for individual instruction this summer.
The annual Ankle Kickers Camp will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. from June 27-30 at the Bobcat Soccer Field.
This camp is for youngsters ages 5-7 with a cost of $80 per camper. A $20 deposit is due before June 15. Camp registration will be held at 4:30 p.m. on June 27 in the D.O. Thoms Physical Education Building. Camp fee includes a T-shirt, soccer ball and insurance.
Fundamentals will be taught and campers will receive individual attention.
The annual JCJC Day Soccer Camp will be July 11-14 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. This camp is for youngsters ages 8-14.
Camp fee is $160 with a $60 deposit due before June 27. Registration will be held at 8 a.m. on July 11 in the P.E. Building. Camp fee includes a T-shirt, soccer ball, lunch, swimming pool and insurance.
Campers will be taught technique, small group tactics and tactical play in game situations. Campers will end each day in the swimming pool.

The annual JCJC Women's Team Soccer Camp will be held July 18-22.
Camp fee is $250 for residential and $215 for commuter campers. A $100 deposit is due before June 27.
The camp will last from approximately 8 a.m.-8 p.m. each day.
This camp is the perfect preseason preparation for high school teams. Morning and afternoon training sessions will focus on both skill development. Evening games will not only allow each player to develop, but will help improve overall team performance. An MVP Award for each team will be given at the end of the week.
