HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Letter carriers, some service organizations and many of you have teamed up to help the hungry in our area. All have helped make the annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive a success.
It was sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Saturday, people across the Pine Belt left donations of non-perishable food items at their mailboxes. The letter carriers picked them up and returned them to some local post offices.
Organizations such as the Salvation Army, Christian Services and the Edwards Street Fellowship Center were then given the donations to help fill their food pantries.
This was the 19th year for the nationwide food drive.
