Perry County death ruled a homicide, victim identified

PERRY COUNTY, MS  (WDAM) - The Perry County man who was found dead in his home Wednesday morning by a family member has been identified as 74 year old Charles Myers.

An autopsy was performed in Jackson Thursday and it was determined that Myers died of blunt force trauma to the head and stab wounds to the neck. Perry County Sheriff Jimmy Dale Smith says they are questioning one person about the death, but no arrests have been made.

Myer's body was discovered at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at his home on Walter Myers Road in North West Perry County. He had been last seen around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
