HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Some Hattiesburg volunteers who took a large amount of donated items to tornado victims in Smithville last weekend are set to make one last trip to that storm-ravaged community. Lorraine Stevens of Animal Medical Center and about a half-dozen other volunteers will once again leave the Hub City Saturday for Monroe County to distribute a trailer full of donated clothing, cleaning supplies and toiletries to storm victims.
Last Saturday, the same group made their first journey to Smithville, carrying similar supplies that had been donated to Animal Medical Center.
Members of USM's Sigma Chi Fraternity helped pack the items for Saturday's trip.
