Please pay close attention to this special Viewpoint:

The recent wave of tornados and flooding along the Mississippi River has devastated many families. The Red Cross always helps those in need after a disaster strikes.  Right now, the Red Cross and its partners are working around the clock to help people in every affected state making sure people have a safe place to stay, food to eat, emotional support, basic health services and relief supplies. But they can't do it alone.  They need additional funds to continue helping affected people in our state.

This Thursday, May 5th, please call 1-855-820-9307 to donate money to a statewide Red Cross Tornado Relief fund. WDAM will continue to reach out to the community with interviews and updates in all our newscasts and with crawls reminding our viewers to donate money and volunteer their time to help our fellow Mississippians in need. All of the money raised in Mississippi will stay in Mississippi to help carry the heavy burden this natural disaster placed on our people. Again, this Thursday, please donate whatever you can to help the Red Cross and the people of your state. I'm Jim Cameron…thanking you in advance for your generous response.
