Mugshots reopens in new location

HATTIESBURG, MS - (WDAM) Mugshots is back.

After burning down in March, the final touches are being made to the hamburger joint at its new location on North 40th Avenue in front of the Grand 18 Theater.

Sound familiar? It's the location of the former Alumni House sports bar that recently closed. Mugshots has added a few of its own special touches to the place, adding the swings on the patio, and preparing to stay open late on the weekends. Hanging the new sign Monday morning was one of the final details to get Mugshots back to cooking their famous burgers.

Owner, Ron Savell, says the fire knocked them down, but not out, and they are excited to be back up and running. Savell said, "Much anticipated, we're ready to get back open. It's been a long 38 days, I think is how long it's been, and it's, we're just ready to get back to serving burgers and taking care of our customers."

Mugshots' new location is designed to be family friendly, and it's official opening day is Tuesday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m.
