HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association will have its monthly meeting April 28, from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Depot, 308 Newman St.
The speaker for this month is Pamela Pridgen, Director, The Library of Hattiesburg, Petal and Forrest County. Pamela is currently serving as Chairman of the MS Humanities Council and will discuss the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, New Harmonies, Celebrating American Roots Music.
A part of the exhibit includes recognition of Hattiesburg as the Birthplace of Rock and Roll. Brooke Cruthirds, Curator of the African American Military History Museum, will be here to discuss that interesting fact as well.
