HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A North Forrest High School student's commitment to community service has earned her some much needed scholarship money for college. Senior Marlee Cameron is this year's recipient of a $1,000 Edward J. "Ed" Langton Scholarship, presented by Grand Bank.
Cameron was chosen, in part, for her dedication to her community.
Last November, she organized a walk which raised more than $1,100 to help fight Alzheimer's Disease.
Cameron will study occupational therapy at Pearl River Community College. She's the 2nd recipient of the scholarship, which was initiated by Grand Bank employees in 2004 to honor Langton, who is CEO of the bank.
