Driver faces drug charges after Hattiesburg accident

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Baton Rouge man is in the Forrest County Jail on drug charges after being involved in a multi-car accident in Hattiesburg Thursday morning.

Police say Kevin Abrams, 32, was charged with possession of controlled substance after officers say the Chevy truck he was driving rear-ended another vehicle on Highway 49, causing an 8-car pile-up.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Highway 49 and Campbell Loop. Abrams was not hurt, but police say 2 other motorists were injured.

Officers say Abrams was allegedly in possession of 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine at the time of the accident.
