Laurel site joins the Mississippi Blues Trail

LAUREL, MS (WDAM)- Laurel's musical heritage and numerous blues artist were honored with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail Thursday.  The 127th marker was unveiled at 230 Maple Street.

The Laurel area, a hub of musical activity in southeast Mississippi, has been home to a number of noted blues performers, including harmonica player Sam Myers, singer Albennie Jones and guitarist Blind Roosevelt Graves.

With nearly 130 markers, the Mississippi Blues Trail is a museum without walls taking visitors on a musical journey through Mississippi and beyond.
