Hattiesburg Spay and Neuter Clinic gets large donation

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Southern Pines Animal Shelter Spay and Neuter Clinic has once again received a donation to help their cause.

Pet Smart Charities has donated $45,460 to the clinic to help increase the number of people in Forrest County who get their pets spayed or neutered.

The money will enable the clinic to off low cost spay and neuter surgery to Forrest County residents at a reduced price.

Because Forrest County is the largest source of unwanted pets, the money is specifically targeted for pets for there.

This is the second year in a row that Pet Smart has donated money to the clinic for this cause.

"We were able to spay and neuter almost 2000 local pets last year using that money to subsidize the surgery cost,"said Valerie Rachal, Director, Southern Pines Spay and Neuter Clinic. "It makes a huge impact in our area."
