Mt. Olive's McNair hired in Collins

COLLINS, MS (WDAM) - Collins High School has looked nine miles down HWY 49 to hire their new head football coach.

Fred McNair, the offensive coordinator at two-time state champion Mt. Olive, takes over the position vacated when Kevin Jackson left to take a similar position at Moss Point.

Prior to coaching at Mt. Olive, McNair was an assistant coach at Millsaps for several years. An Alcorn State alumnus, McNair was a member of the WDAM-TV All-Area football team while playing quarterback at Mt. Olive in 1985.

The brother of the late Steve McNair, he joins his wife on the faculty staff at Collins High.  Barbara McNair is the head girls basketball coach at the school.
