Hattiesburg Police dispatchers were treated to lunch in their honor at police headquarters Thursday in recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
18 dedicated dispatchers in the Hub City were honored for their hard work at a 2nd annual luncheon. During the event, city officials thanked them for their devotion to duty and they were also presented with certificates.
"We greatly appreciate this, it's a great honor for the city to actually recognize and support what we do for the Police and Fire Department," said Gary Hudson, manager of the Telecommunications Division for the City of Hattiesburg.
Dispatcher Heather Bryant was recognized as the city's dispatcher of the year.
