LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The City of Laurel has officially joined the rest of the nation in showing its support for the victims of crime. Friday morning, Mayor Melvin Mack signed a proclamation, declaring the week of April 10th-16th as "National Crime Victims' Rights Week."
Mayor Mack was joined by other city officials, law enforcement officers and victims' rights advocates at a signing ceremony at City Hall.
On April 14, Laurel will host a candlelight vigil for crime victims at Pinehurst Park.
The event will begin at 5:45 p.m.
