The Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg and a local author have teamed up help console young children after the death of a parent. The provisional class of the Junior Auxiliary has assisted author Kathy Chase Young in writing the new children's book, Today Was a Good Day.
it's a book to help children in their grieving process.
Thursday afternoon, Pine Grove Books and Gifts hosted a signing party, featuring Young and illustrator Kelly Arcarese Stanford.
"I wanted to make sure that a child who holds this book can understand that someone else has felt the same way that they've felt and someone else cares about the hurt that they're going through," said Kathy Chase Young.
"It's written for children, but anyone who's grieving will be comforted by the words in this book," said Kelly Arcarese Stanford.
You can get a copy of the book at Pine Grove Books and Gifts, Main Street Books or through Tishomingo Tree Press.
