HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The City of Hattiesburg is about to undertake a three phase, 5.5 million dollar sewer rehabilitation project.
Preparations have been made and pipes have been hauled into parts of East Hattiesburg along Martin Luther King Blvd that will target old sewer lines in those residential areas.
Phase one is a $2,000,000 project for East Hattiesburg. Phase two will be a 1.5 million dollar project for west Hattiesburg and the third and final phase will be a $2,000,000 project for the North Lagoon Project.
City officials says the Corp of Engineers is footing 75% of the bill.
Work on phase one is scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 5.
